Rihanna is making headlines in a good way. The “Umbrella” singer has signed on to lend her voice to a compilation album, which will raise funds for Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.
People reports that Rihanna will be joined by U2 and Justin Bieber on the album. Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Bon Jovi are also reportedly being recruited for the project.
The album is being produced by Universal Music and is supposed to be completed by the week’s end. All proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.
Many stars have already given back in light of the tragedy, with R&B singer Ne-Yo performing charity shows in Japan and working to raise $50,000 for the victims. We imagine Gaga will be quick to jump on board with this project, as she’s already designed a Prayer Bracelet to aid relief efforts.
Keep an eye out for the digital-only album to drop later this week.
