Rihanna isn’t holding anyone but herself accountable for her rekindled relationship with Chris Brown. She covers the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone, and the title of the story, “Crazy in Love,” couldn’t be more fitting.
“I decided it was more important for me to be happy,” Rihanna tells the magazine. “I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
Many have been angered by the fact that Rihanna has taken back the man who abused her nearly four years ago. But she claims he’s learned his lesson — and if he hasn’t, she has no qualms about kicking him to the curb.
“He doesn’t have the luxury of f**king up again,” she says of Brown. “That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”
