ryan braun suspended mlb ped gi Ryan Braun suspended from MLB for violating drug policy

It sounds like the jig is up for Milwaukee Brewers star Ryan Braun. He has been suspended from Major League Baseball for the remainder of the 2013 season, which counts up to 65 games.
He has been suspended for violating the league’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Braun came clean about the violation, following a failed 2011 drug test and questioning about a link to Biogenesis, a supposed wellness clinic in Miami that was being investigated for supplying performance-enhancing drugs to athletes.
The results of 2011 test were leaked to ESPN at the time, who reported that Braun was facing a 50-game suspension. Another test was conducted by an independent laboratory, which found Braun had normal testosterone levels and he successfully appealed the failed test the following January.
Braun has repeatedly maintained that he did not take performance-enhancing drugs during his career. However, in a statement following his suspension, the left fielder says, “I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions.” He didn’t directly mention the failed test or Biogenesis, however.
A previous investigation by the Miami New Times found several other athletes connected to Biogenesis, including New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.
