What are Turtle, E, Vince and Drama doing in Cannes?
HBO’s hit show "Entourage" will be shooting an episode during the film festival. The studio is desperately trying to keep the shooting sked and locations top-secret but you know how word gets around. There’s a news conference on May 23 at the Majestic Hotel to satiate the curious international press corp. Yeah, that’ll work in a Cannes-full of paparazzi.
So where will the show be shooting? I have no clue. But I do have ideas. You gotta have a screaming-fans-lining-the-red-carpet on the Croisette scene. Definitely let the lads attend a late night party at the Hotel du Cap. Maybe the Vanity Fair party there on Saturday, May 19th?
What’s Cannes without the legendary Moulin des Mougins amFAR event on May 23 where Harvey Weinstein and Sharon Stone will be auctioneers and M.A.C spokesmodel Dita Von Teese will perform her legendary striptease with a giant M.A.C lipstick.
Have the boys stop by the Century Club to watch George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sign portraits to be auctioned off for Stars for a Cause. There’s also a Nike party at the Century Club on May 17th, the same night as the U2/Bono party.
The Soho House – located at Chateau de la Napoule – would make a great location. Especially with the news that Morton’s – the infamous site of the exclusive Vanity Fair Oscar parties – will turn into a Soho House West Hollywood private club for the next awards season. No driver? Just head out of Cannes towards St Tropez, taking the sea road. First, you’ll pass ‘la Bocca’ and then Royal Casino. When you pass the Port of Mondelieu-Napoule, the Chateau gate is on your left.
Don’t forget to put the "Entourage" boys on a huuuuuge yacht. The Cannes experience is just not complete without a star-studded floating party on an enormous yacht anchored offshore or tied up in the marina. I hear Film Independent (think the Independent Spirit Awards) is throwing their party onboard the Anheuser-Bush yacht on either May 21-22nd.
Great place for Vince to find financing for "Medellin," mais non?
