Many people are fascinated with Google’s latest product, Glass. Google Glass is an internet-connected headset, giving those who wear it access to a camera, web searches, GPS directions and more. Not everyone is ready to make that technological leap though, and one of those people is Sarah Palin.
A writer for The Verge was wearing Google Glass during Memorial Day, while attending the Indianapolis 500. The night before the race he was in a local hotel, when Sarah Palin showed up to meet and take photos with admirers. When the writer approached her, though, the mood changed. Palin wouldn’t take a photo with the writer and denied his offer to wear the headset, which others had been doing all weekend.
“What’s in it for us?” her husband Todd Palin asked before adding, “We don’t know what company your with.” When the writer explained he was a journalist and was simply looking for Palin’s opinion on the technology, not an endorsement, Todd “icily” asked him to leave.
Maybe this slice of the future is a little too strange for the Palin family, or perhaps they just didn’t want to be bothered trying to figure out the technology.
