“Going Rogue” is going nowhere. The original printing of 1.5 million copies has been upped to 2.8 million.
]]>Sarah Palin better start doing wrist exercises if she’s going to keep signing books without punking out. Her book has officially sold over 1 million copies, according to spokeswoman Tina Andreadis.
The original print order of 1.5 million copies was upped to 2.5 million but has now been increased again to 2.8 million. The only other political memoirs to crack the million mark are President Barack Obama’s “The Audacity of Hope,” Bill Clinton’s “My Life” and Hillary Rodham Clinton’s “Living History,” so this is a first for the conservatives.
In terms of first week sales, Palin’s 700,000 is second only to Bill Clinton’s 900,000. Hillary checked in at 600,000 in the first week. Obama’s “Hope” only sold 67,000 in the first week, though sales really ramped up when Obama was no longer just a senator from Illinois. We’d have to imagine that Palin’s sales would have been similarly small if she was just a Governor and had never run for Vice President.
We aren’t sure what makes us sadder… that this book has sold over a million copies or that Kris Allen’s debut is tanking so badly.
