norway reschedules exams justin bieber concert gi Schools in Norway move exams so students can go to a Justin Bieber concert

Is this what they mean by Bieber fever?

Five schools in Norway have rescheduled midterm exams so students will not have a conflict between their tests and a Justin Bieber concert. The country’s Ministry of Education and Research has no plans to oppose this move.

As first reported by Fox News, the intense popularity of Bieber in Norway, coupled with the remote location of some schools, led to the decision. Students in the western part of the Scandinavian country will take their midterm examinations at a later date.

The Norwegian education minister, Kristin Halvorsen, has said that the government will not interfere with the individual schools’ decisions on this. “I am concerned that students should be concentrating when they take tests and midterms,” she said. “We’ve all been 14 years old and know that interests can be intense.”

All of the five schools choosing the rescheduling are located in the country’s Alesund region, more than 200 miles from the country’s capital city of Oslo. Bieber’s Believe Tour is scheduled to arrive in Oslo for a two-day stint on April 16 and 17. This is the first Norwegian visit for the Biebs since May, 2012, when tens of thousands of young fans converged on the Oslo Opera House in the hope of catching a free concert.

As for Justin Bieber himself, the Canadian pop star seems to be amused by the new scheduling. He tweeted a link to the story on Wednesday (April 3), commenting “Love this.”
