For the Inspirational Songs half of the “American Idol” Top 4 performances, Scotty McCreery chose Alan Jackson’s 9/11 anthem “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).” What did you think?

It was very much in his Scotty lane, but he knows himself and his fanbase, so it was a completely brilliant song choice. We don’t doubt his sincerity – his emotions were palpable during the performance – but it was also a very calculated play on somebody’s part.

The judges were complimentary, though not leaping out of their chairs. Randy says he’s on his way to super-stardom and J.Lo says she’s in love with him. What do you think? Good Scotty? Or best Scotty so far?
