phoebe tonkin secret circle 'Secret Circle,' 'Hart of Dixie' picked up for full seasons on The CWParty time! Break out the boxed wine and… whatever teen witches drink. Potion? Orange soda?

Yes, “Hart of Dixie” and “The Secret Circle” have both been picked up by The CW for full seasons, hot on the heels of “Ringer’s” good news as well.

“Hart of Dixie” has consistently built on its lead-in, “Gossip Girl,” while “The Secret Circle” is the network’s top-rated new show — and, incidentally, the second-highest rated show on the network at the moment.

This means, of course, that all of The CW’s scripted fare has been picked up for full seasons. “H8R,” its only new fall reality show, was also its only casualty, as it was canceled last week and replaced in the schedule by “Ringer” repeats.

“We believe in the creative strength of these dramas, and by giving them back nine orders we can give our audience the chance to enjoy complete seasons of all three of them,” says network president Mark Pedowtiz. “With compelling storylines, engaging characters and tremendous buzz, we firmly believe that Hart of Dixie, Ringer and The Secret Circle can become signature series for The CW, the kind of top-notch shows that are synonymous with our brand.”
This summer, The CW announced that it has adopted a new strategy to avoid mid-season repeats by extending season orders of some of its more veteran series beyond 22 episodes. With the new shows going to full season and a 13-episode final season of “One Tree Hill” still on the shelf for 2012, we’re looking at a pleasantly rerun-light season.
