Even Pope Francis is getting in on the “selfie” craze.
The photo-taking style popularized by many Twitter-happy celebrities like Justin Bieber and Rihanna has infiltrated Vatican City. An image of Pope Francis posing with a group of young visitors was taken by Reuters on Aug. 28.
Appropriately, this was the same day that the Oxford English Dictionary added “selfie” to its online lexicon. According to the OED, a “selfie” is “a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.”
Unfortunately, the Pope’s Twitter account hasn’t uploaded any selfie’s yet.
