The Peabody Awards might be a more high-class affair where journalists and storytellers are awarded for their excellence in media and “stories that matter,” but it doesn’t mean people like “Serial’s” Sarah Koenig can’t have a little fun.

For the opening number of the 2015 event, host Fred Armisen treats the prestigious ceremony like the Oscars or Emmys and thinks it deserves a dance number to start things off. Of course, the people he has to work with aren’t actors or professional dancers — they’re self-proclaimed “serious” journalists like Koenig, Afropop Worldwide’s Sean Barlow and NPR’s Nurith Alzenman, who covered the Ebola outbreak.

After spending a bit of time trying to convince the journalists that dancing will most definitely set the right tone, the non-dancers try out Armisen’s choreography. (It should be noted that one of the “Saturday Night Live” actor’s tips is to dance “drunk.”) What results is an amazingly awkward dance involving Koenig throwing her hands up in the air like she just don’t care.
