Wednesday, June 8, was full of highs and lows for country superstar Shania Twain. First, she announced her two-year residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Later, she attended the 2011 CMT Music Awards where she starred in a “Thelma and Louise” clip with Taylor Swift and Chord Overstreet. Both highs, obviously.
Her low? Twain, who attended the show for the first time in seven years, took a nasty spill while heading to the stage to present the award for Male Video of the Year.
Instead of letting the fall get to her, Twain decided to release a video, via her Twitter account, to address the spill. “I have to get this adrenaline out because I made a complete fool of myself,” she says while sitting in a hotel room. “I realized I don’t need a stunt double since I do my own stunts in the ‘Thelma and Louise’ video clip and I didn’t need a stunt double to wipe out on my way to the stage to present.”
Don’t worry. Twain fans. The singer says she’s not injured. “I didn’t hurt myself. I have a bit of a sore thumb and that’s it.”
Twain is blaming someone for the fall though — her high heels. “I am going to auction those shoes as soon as I can,” she jokes. “I never want to see those shoes again. Maybe I should keep them as a souvenir.”
Celebrities planning to take a fall on stage in the future, take notes. This is how you handle it.
