Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Sharon Stone will join the cast of “Law & Order: SVU” for four episodes later this season.
Stone will play a former cop who’s now a prosecutor on the NBC show. There’s no word yet on when her first episode will air, but when it does it will mark her first TV series appearance since 2006, when she guested on Showtime’s “Huff.”
“It is obviously a thrill and a delight to have a star of Sharon’s wattage and importance joining ‘SVU,'” “Law & Order” creator and executive producer Dick Wolf says.
Stone won an Emmy in 2004 for a guest arc on “The Practice.” Her Oscar nomination came in 1996 for “Casino,” for which she also won a Golden Globe. She’s the second high-profile guest star the show has landed this week; Mischa Barton signed on to play a prostitute in a future episode.
