sharon-stone-lawsuit-nanny-gi-1.jpgSharon Stone’s former nanny and live-in housekeeper is suing the “Basic Instinct” actress for wrongful termination, alleging that the actress fired her for accepting overtime pay.

In the nine-page civil complaint filed Wednesday (May 23) in Los Angeles Superior Court, Erlinda T. Elemen also alleges Stone repeatedly made derogatory comments about her Filipino heritage and religious beliefs. Stone reportedly told Elemen not to speak in front of her children, so they would “not talk like [her].” Stone also allegedly wouldn’t allow Elemen to read her Bible in the actress’ home.

According to the Associated Press, Elemen says Stone fired her after five years of employment upon discovering that she had been paid for overtime.

“Because abuses in overtime pay are common for household employees, it seems ironic that Ms. Stone initially did the right thing and paid Mrs. Elemen overtime wages, and then terminated her for accepting those same wages,” Elemen’s attorney, Solomon Gresen, says in a statement.

The lawsuit alleges that when Stone discovered that her staff had paid Elemen’s overtime, she accused Elemen of stealing and asked for the money back.

However, Stone’s publicist, Paul Bloch, says Elemen is simply a disgruntled former employee who first sought disability and worker’s compensation payments after she was fired about 15 months ago, reports the Los Angeles Times.

“This is an absurd lawsuit that has been filed by a disgruntled ex-employee who is obviously looking to get money any way she can,” Bloch says in a statement.

Who do you believe: Stone or the nanny?
