Pippa Middleton, sister of Catherine and sister-in-law of Prince William, was spotted Friday (April 20) for the first time since she was photographed in Paris on April 14 while riding shotgun in an Audi convertible as the driver pointed what looked like a semi-automatic pistol at a photographer behind the car.
Us Weekly reports that the famous royal bridesmaid appeared somber in sunglasses, a long-sleeved color-block top, leggings and heels. The 28-year-old socialite was heading into the Rosano Ferreti Hair Spa in London.
Middleton had reportedly been hiding out at her family’s home in the English countryside.
While she has yet to address the scandal, another passenger, Viscount Arthur de Soultrait, whose birthday party Middleton attended the night before the incident, released a statement to Us Weekly on Wednesday.
“Last Saturday I was in a car with Philippa Middleton, and we were being followed by paparazzi. The car was being driven by a friend of mine, whom Pippa had only met a few hours before,” Soultrait says of Romain Rabillard, a 36-year-old attorney. “As a joke, my friend brandished a toy pistol in their direction. Obviously Philippa had no idea that he was going to do that and told him to stop immediately. She did not find it funny.”
“I regret enormously that this incident happened, and especially that Pippa has been subject to the subsequent attention through no fault of her own. I have apologized to her for this,” he continues.
Do you think Middleton deserves the criticism she’s receiving for the incident?
