The console wars are already heating up. Though Sony announced the PlayStation 4 in February, they showed off everything except for the system itself. The move left many confused, can you really reveal a console without actually showing it to anyone?
Microsoft is set to make a similar announcement Tuesday (May 21), debuting the next Xbox, which still has no official name. In an effort to steal a bit of their thunder, Sony released a teaser video for the PS4 Monday (May 20). The video technically gives the first look at the console, though it’s hard to tell exactly what you’re looking at.
The video also promises the console will be truly unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June. The annual conference is where most major video game companies show off their new technology and what to expect from them for the next few years.
Both consoles, Sony’s and Microsoft’s, are expected to be in stores for the 2013 holiday season.
