Actress Stacey Dash, 46, recently made headlines when she tweeted her support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, along with a picture of herself in a “Baywatch”-esque red swimsuit. Backlash was swift and ugly.

On Tuesday’s (Oct. 9) “Piers Morgan Tonight,” she tells Morgan about why she chose to endorse Romney.

“I would say because of the state of the country, and I want the next
four years to be different. I believe him…I watched him, the Governor and his wife, on
‘Meet The Press.’…They spoke to me, they seemed authentic and
genuine,” says Dash.

She also says the backlash was hard to understand.

“The fury, I really don’t understand the fury. I don’t understand it. I don’t get it … I was shocked, saddened. Not angry. Saddened and really shocked. But you know what, you can’t expect everyone to agree with you.”

We would argue there’s a big difference between disagreeing with someone and the racist vitriol people were directing her way on Twitter. Way to take the high road and not rise to the bait, Stacey.
