steve jobs apple logo tribute Steve Jobs Apple logo tribute goes viralGraphic design student Jonathan Mak Long was shocked in August 2011 when Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple, so Long created the above tribute to Jobs, using Jobs’ profile as the bite out of the famous Apple logo.

When Long first created it, he posted it on his Tumblr blog and nothing really came of it. But upon learning of Jobs’ death Wednesday (Oct. 5), Long posted the tribute again and an internet sensation was born.

He tells Yahoo! News, “I wanted to commemorate him. He’s such an integral part of Apple. I
thought it would be fitting to include him in the Apple logo. With Jobs gone, Apple is literally missing a piece.”

“He had this vision that he was not afraid to commit to. That’s how he
broke new ground. His commitment and belief in himself is what inspire
me,” Long continues.

Long has received several job offers since the graphic went viral, but he says he hasn’t taken any of them, as he’s “still a student.”
