When “Supernatural” executive producer Jeremy Carver revealed at Comic-Con that while Dean was in Purgatory, Sam hit a dead-end and stopped looking for him, fans were understandably confused. After all, it’s not exactly the Winchester way to give up when someone is hurt, goes missing, or even dies.
Fans should take some comfort in the knowledge that in the Season 8 premiere, when Dean does finally return from Purgatory, Sam doesn’t hesitate to get back on the road with his brother, leaving his “normal life” behind. (Though we hear he’s not so keen on leaving his new dog behind. Can you blame him?)
Below, find the official description of the Oct. 3 episode, titled “We Need To Talk About Kevin,” directly from The CW. What do you think, fans? Drop us a line in the comments section and let us know what you hope to see from Season 8.
SAM AND DEAN ARE REUNITED AFTER A YEAR APART — Dean (Jensen Ackles) re-emerges from Purgatory, but he isn’t alone. He heads straight for Sam (Jared Padalecki), but the reunion isn’t exactly what he thought it would be. Sam drops everything to join his brother, but leaving the life he had grown to enjoy turns out to be harder than he imagined. Dean and Sam look for Kevin (guest star Osric Chau) who has managed to escape Crowley’s (guest star Mark Sheppard) grasp, but things come to a head quickly when Kevin tells them what it is that Crowley wants. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#802).
