ethan zohn gi 'Survivor's' Ethan Zohn runs NYC marathon despite cancer returnEthan Zohn takes the survivor title very seriously, it seems. This week, the “Survivor” winner announced that his Hodgkin’s lymphoma returned, localized in his lungs. He admitted that he and his “Amazing Race” partner and girlfriend Jenna Morasca, were overwhelmed by the diagnosis. “We’re both filled with fear and anger and anxiety and gratitude and
frustration,” he says. “But there’s so much love there. It’s this
whole spectrum of emotions.”

Still, he wasn’t going to let it stop him from achieving a goal he set for himself just after they were eliminated from “Amazing Race” — and on Sunday (Nov. 6) he ran the New York City marathon. He tells People he had “no hesitation whatsoever that I would still run in the marathon, but a lot of other people did.

He’s on a specific type of chemotherapy — SGN-35 — which only targets the cancer. “If I was on the other
type of chemo, I wouldn’t be able to run,” he says. “This drug came out
while I was in remission. Everyone who is running has a cause and I’m living proof that it works.”

He’s running for Grassroots Soccer. “I have a competitive spirit and I like to challenge and push myself,”he says.
“This time, I’m proud and I’m excited. Finishing for me is going to be a
big deal. I’m going to walk, shake hands, give high-fives and kiss
babies. I’m going to have the time of my life.”
