“FNL” QB 1 is coming back to the small screen in FOX’s untitled medical drama. Zach Gilford will star opposite Jordana Spiro, a surgeon who becomes indebted to the Chicago mafia and is forced to mooonlight for them. Gilford will play a doctor who comes from money who works alongside Spiro at the hospital. [Hollywood Reporter]

ABC’s drama “Scruples” has added Claire Forlani, Boris Kodjoe and Jessica McNamee. The show centers on fashion designer Billy Winthrop (Forlani) and her world of money, sex and scandal. [Deadline]

The comedy pilot “The Smart One,” starring Portia de Rossi and Malin Akerman, has cast two more regulars – Matt Oberg and Stephanie Beatriz. The show is about two sisters (one brainy, one … not as brainy) who suddenly work together. Oberg will play de Rossi’s assistant, while Beatriz will play Akerman’s smart but ditsy hairdresser. The CW’s pilot “The Carrie Diaries,” the “Sex and the City” prequel starring AnnaSophia Robb in the title role, has cast Carrie’s dad – Matt Letscher. And FOX has added a wife for Cuba Gooding Jr. in its new legal drama “Guilty” – Sharon Leal. [Deadline]

“Desperate Housewives” may be going off the air, but Vanessa Williams isn’t. She’s taking up residence at ABC’s “666 Park Avenue,” the spooky new show about a couple managing a New York City apartment building where supernatural occurrences are happening. Williams will play the cold, sophisticated wife of the building’s owner (“Lost’s” Terry O’Quinn). [Deadline]

Brad Garrett of “Everybody Loves Raymond” has been cast opposite Sarah Chalke and Elizabeth Perkins in ABC’s comedy “How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life.” The comedy is about Polly (Chalke), who is a recently-divorced mom and has to move back in with her parents (Perkins and Garrett).
