susan lucci deadly affairs Susan Lucci's 'Deadly Affairs' and 'Days of Our Knives' true crime daytime block lead ID's 'guilty pleasure' programmingOne of the taglines for “Deadly Affairs,” Investigation Discovery’s new true-crime-of-passion series, is “from lawfully wed to unlawfully dead.” Since “All My Children’s” Erica Kane has been both these things — many times over — who better to host these “real-life tales of love gone terribly wrong” than Susan Lucci herself?

“Deadly Affairs” premieres Sept. 8, but a 10-minute sneak peek of the series will air Monday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. — the timeslot dominated by Lucci and “All My Children” for decades — as part of ID’s new daytime programming block: “Days of Our Knives.”

Soap operas may be, ahem, dying out, but apparently there are enough stranger-than-fiction tales to take their place. The true-life programming will air 1-4 p.m. weekdays with a weekly theme hosted by a variety of soap personalities.

“Days of Our Knives” launches Aug. 20 with “Tainted Love Week,” hosted by “Guiding Light’s” Robert Newman (Joshua Lewis) and Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne).

“Deadly Affairs” debuts Saturday, Sept. 8 at 10 p.m. on Investigation Discovery.
