On Tuesday’s “Joy Behar: Say Anything,” Susan Sarandon was asked about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, specifically the leaked tapes from the private fundraiser.
“I’m so entertained. I’m very happy he’s so entertaining,” quips the actress. But she continues in all seriousness. “I don’t know if it’s going to cost him, I think a lot of people agree with him, seeing things that way. I guess it’ll mostly affect the swing voters. I think it’s an interesting few days on the campaign trail to see how he deals with that, but I don’t think that was really new information.”
When Behar says it makes Romney look “Scrooge-like,” Sarandon responds, “But that’s what he is. But I don’t think, listening to where he wants to spend his money, that he’s very interested in education or the elderly.”
Later, Sarandon finishes with, “I think right now things are so hard because of the administration, the Bush administration, that came in when ther ewas so much money and then went into these wars and everything else. People are trying to keep their heads above water so they hate the idea that someone’s going to get a hand out because they’re holding down two jobs.”
What do you think? Does Sarandon have a point?
