taylor-kitsch-GQ.jpgTaylor Kitsch, the bad boy everyone loved on “Friday Night Lights,” is hitting the big screen in March in “John Carter,” a sci-fi/western also starring Willem Dafoe and Dominic West, and in May for “Battleship.” Kitsch is in the latest issue of GQ, getting his James Dean on in the town of Marfa, Texas, where Dean famously shot his last movie, “Giant.”

On going from an ensemble TV show to two potential blockbusters:

“This year is really make-or-break.”

On working with “Friday Night Lights” creator Peter Berg, who directs “Battleship”:

“On FNL, Peter taught us: challenge the director, challenge the writers. Stand your ground. For ‘Battleship,’ he had this moment of ‘I almost regret teaching you that. Just do it, will you?”

On staying in Texas, where he’s building his dream house in Austin:

“Texas forever. It looks like it’s going to be that way, too.”

The GQ issue is on newsstands now. Read the full interview at GQ’s website.
