taylor swift ronan stand up to cancer Taylor Swift releases song 'Ronan' for cancer charityTaylor Swift was one of the many celebrities who gathered in Los Angeles for the biennial Stand Up to Cancer telethon, but the singer didn’t only lend her time to the cancer charity — she also debuted a brand new song called “Ronan,” about a 4-year-old boy who died of the disease.

According to CBS News, Swift was inspired to write the song after reading the blog written by Ronan’s mother, Maya Thompson, which documented her son’s fight with neuroblastoma. Swift credits Thompson as a co-writer on the song.
