The highly anticipated “Les Miserables” update already has a star-studded cast including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne, but they’re looking to add one more Hollywood starlet to the mix.
The NY Post reports that there are four performers currently vying for the role of Eponine in the film which is sure to be an Oscar contender. The four lucky women? Taylor Swift, “Glee’s” Lea Michele, Evan Rachel Wood, and Scarlett Johansson.
Eponine, a pivotal character plagued by poverty and, of course, unrequited love, sings some of the most iconic songs from the musical — including the very famous “On My Own.” Michele may have the benefit of experience, here, as she played the role in the 2008 Hollywood Bowl production of the musical. She also played Cosette in a Broadway revival of the play.
The movie is due to begin filming any day now, with an Oscar-friendly release date of December 7, 2012.
Who do you think would be the ideal Eponine?
