teabag13 'Teabagger' finalist for Oxford Word of the Year; Anderson Cooper approves“Teabagger” was one of the finalists for the Oxford Word of the Year for 2009 — somewhere, Anderson Cooper snickers.

Teabagger is defined by Oxford as “a person, who protests President Obama’s tax policies and stimulus
package, often through local demonstrations known as ‘Tea Party’

Last spring on CNN’s “AC 360,” David Gergen, the director of the Center for Public Leadership, said that the Republican party was “searching for [their] voice.” Anderson Cooper responded, “It’s hard to talk when you’re tea-bagging.”

We heart Anderson Cooper.

“Teabagger” didn’t win, however. The 2009 Oxford Word of the Year is “unfriend,” as in “to remove someone as a ‘friend’ on a social networking site such as Facebook.”

Other finalists include “hashtag,” “sexting,” “funemployed,” and “death panel.” Our personal favorite nominee was “tramp stamp.”
