Ted Kennedy fought for a lot of things during his seven-plus terms in the U.S. Senate, but expanding health-care coverage was a thread that ran through much of his political career.
The cause even took Kennedy, who died early Wednesday at age 77, to the realm of scripted TV. He played himself in a 1997 episode of “Chicago Hope.”
