terrell owens Terrell Owens 'in hell': Nearly broke and out of work, he wants to playTerrell Owens says he has recovered from the knee surgery that kept him off the field last summer and he’s ready to play again. More than that — he needs to play again, because he’s running out of money.

In a recent GQ article, Owens reveals that when his friends text him to ask how he is, he responds “I’M IN HELL” — though he admits that he has few friends and is struggling with the burden of court cases filed against him by the mothers of his four children.

Owens says the media “needs a bad guy,” and that he’s been targeted. “I think people change, but the media, they never allowed me to change. They never allowed me to be a better person.” The betrayals aren’t just from the press, though, he says, but from the people he trusted to manage his money. “I hate myself for letting this happen,” Owens said. “I believed that
they had my back when they said, ‘You take care of the football, and
we’ll do the rest.’ And in the end, they just basically stole from me.”

He’s not giving up on the game – in fact, he works out three hours a day and has a stack of brand-new cleats waiting by the door. “I will be here next year,” he says. “I’ll be fit and healthy and ready to play.”
