stephen colbert getty 'The Colbert Report' back: Stephen Colbert thanks fans for supportComedy Central satirical news program “The Colbert Report” halted production last week, quite suddenly (ticket-holders were not informed until they arrived at the taping that production was halted). There was much speculation that it was so host Stephen Colbert could be with his 91-year-old mother, who is not in good health.

Without confirming anything about the reason for the production halt, a spokesperson for Comedy Central has confirmed to the New York Times that the show is back in production this week, beginning Monday (Feb. 20).

Colbert took to Twitter to thank his fans in, if the speculation is true, has been a difficult time for him and his family. Colbert writes, “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their
thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern.”

“The Colbert Report’s” guest line up this week includes authors Ann Patchett, Robert Kagan, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi and opera singer Placido Domingo.
