During the summer of 2013, Jon Stewart took a hiatus from “The Daily Show” to direct a movie and John Oliver filled in at the news desk. Tuesday (Oct. 7) Stewart was gone once again — this time because he is under the weather — and Jason Jones took a turn anchoring the broadcast, later helped by his wife and fellow “Daily Show” correspondent Samantha Bee.

Watch above at Jones’ opening, where he both pokes fun at how nervous he is and then tackles the 2016 presidential race in the form of a montage of Vice President Biden’s verbal faux pas.

Below, Bee has a piece about police shootings, which is not really a funny segment at all, but her intro for the piece is hilarious, as she lambasts her husband for not letting her host the episode. Then in the final video, Jones and Bee interview former “Daily Show” correspondent Wyatt Cenac, who is there to promote his new Netflix stand-up special.
