rick berger mtv 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger': Preview Rick's makeover and mortifying new jobIt’s safe to say that Rick Berger (Larry Poindexter) has seen better days.

On Monday’s (Apr. 25) episode of the MTV scripted comedy “The Hard Times of RJ Berger,” Mr. B will start a new chapter of his currently sad and depressing life. After being left by his wife and love of his life, Rick is rocking a poor man’s snuggie (in case you’re unfamiliar, it’s a backwards bathrobe) and cooking Pop-Tarts with an iron in a no-tell motel.

]]>Paul Iacono) and new pal Amy (Caitlin Crosby) step in the help out. Zap2it has a first look at the upcoming episode, in which Rick gets a poor-mans makeover courtesy of the two crazy kids. Watch below. “Rick has lost his mind completely,” Poindexter tells Zap2it of his character. “He still thinks he’s kind of debonaire and he’s so not.” Thanks to the makeover, Rick gets the confidence to go out for a new job. Unfortunately for RJ, said job is as a substitute teacher at his high school. “I think it’s really brilliant that our executive producers and writing team have managed to make RJ’s life just a living hell,” Poindexter laughs. “I can’t think of anything worse than having your dad be your teacher at school. So, it’s good for Rick to kind of get it together and get a job. [But it’s] bad, bad, bad for RJ.” Monday night’s episode will also drop a bomb when it comes to a new man in Mrs. Berger’s (Beth Littleford) life. Something that Poindexter says should provide laughs for the rest of the season. “There’s a great deal of rivalry going on there,” he explains. “There’s a lot of side glances and kind of sharp comments that are going on between the two of them in the next few episodes — Which is more or less fantastic.” Adding, “I think there is always hope for a reunion between Mr. and Mrs. Berger. I think that they’re soul mates. Despite being swingers, I do think that they’re soul mates.” So who is this new dude? And what is going on with that dream board in the clip? Tune to MTV on April 25th at 10 PM to find out.
