British actor Matthew Goode
has auditioned for the role of Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo Del Toro
‘s upcoming, “The Hobbit.”
At least, that’s what he told the Telegraph
recently, although he pooh-poohed the notion of actually getting the part with a dismissive, “Look at the size of me for Christ’s sake.”
He is quite tall but that shouldn’t matter in this new CGI world. Besides, he has those bright blue eyes and impish grin like Frodo (Elijah Wood).
You may remember Goode as Colin Firth‘s dead lover in Tom Ford’s A Single Man” or Ozymandias in “The Watchmen.”
