The key art for “The Killing’s” fourth and final season has been released by Netflix. It features Detective Linden (Mireille Enos) staring out (contemplatively, one assumes, because that is how Linden stares 90 percent of the time) across the water at Seattle with the caption “The past can’t be washed away.”
The Season 4 premiere picks up right after the events of the Season 3 finale, with Linden and partner Det. Holder (Joel Kinnaman) struggling with the fallout from their actions at the end of last season. But they are also assigned a new case — a seemingly perfect family is murdered, all except their son Kyle (Tyler Ross), who survived being shot in the head during the massacre. Joan Allen guest-stars as Col. Margaret Rayne, the headmaster at Kyle’s military academy.
“The Killing” premieres Friday, Aug. 1 on Netflix.
