Just because the ratings for The CW’s summer soap “The L.A. Complex” have been disappointingly low for such a great show doesn’t mean the network has lost faith in the Canadian import about Hollywood wannabes.
“We plan to show all the episodes,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz promises reporters at the 2012 Television Critics Association summer press tour. “We’re actually big fans of the show. … I think it’s a well-made show, it’s a show right down the wheelhouse.”
Although the overnigh ratings aren’t very high, Pedowitz says the series does well elsewhere. “The show actually does do very well for us digitally and in the social media space.”
He says he has no regrets in ordering the series, and really stands behind its quality. “There’s a sense of reality of what it’s like to try to make it in the Hollywood area and the entertainment industry. [We’re] supportive of it. Great showrunners — Marty Gero is just fantastic. We hope to be in business with him for a long time.”
Are you glad you’ll be able to see all of “The L.A. Complex”?
