Can a cat help play matchmaker for a couple who say they aren’t ready for love? Find out during the Hallmark Channel Original Movie premiere of the heartfelt holiday film “The Nine Lives of Christmas” on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
Zachary (“Superman Returns””star Brandon Routh) is a handsome firefighter who thinks true love is a joke and has no plans of letting anyone — or anything — get too close. But that all changes when Zachary rescues a cat named Ambrose, and quickly becomes attached to his new feline friend.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, cat lover Marilee (Kimberly Sustad) has another problem. She’s in her last year of veterinary school but lives in an apartment where no pets are allowed, so she has be very careful keeping her beloved cat Queenie out of sight. Marilee is happy with her life and doesn’t want to fall in love until she has finished school and started her own practice.
But in a bit of feline serendipity, Zachary and Marilee cross paths at the grocery store, and Marilee gives Zachary some much-needed advice on the right kind of cat food to buy for Ambrose.
Slowly but surely, love begins to grow on both sides, but when some unforeseen obstacles threaten to end their budding relationship, can Zachary and Marilee make sure this Christmas is one to remember?
