In Tuesday’s (Jan. 21) episode of “The Originals,” Davina (Danielle Campbell) gets sick. Like, really, really, really sick. Since every supernatural being in New Orleans has a stake in the powerful little girl’s fate, that means they’ll all band together to try to save her.
“With the choice to save Davina [from the Harvest Ritual], there was an unseen repercussion and one of the things is that she does have a lot of power,” star Charles Michael Davis tells Zap2it. “It’s kind of like a dam overflowing. You’re going to see them have to scramble and come up with a plan and deal with this power and force that she has coming out of her. It’ll be really interesting. It’s a really fun episode.”
While not everyone has the same methodology — or the same ultimate goal — they’re all working toward the same immediate goal of helping save Davina.
After that, though, Davis teases that there are even bigger things coming up. “Are you sure you want [to know what they are]? That’s like an inkling that Santa Claus doesn’t exist. It might ruin your Christmas. It’s like sneaking into the closet, looking at the gifts, shaking them, peeling back the tape to peek in the box. But OK,” he says.
In that delightfully vague way we’ve come to expect of people explaining what’s happening on The CW’s supernatural shows without actually saying anything, he hints at what’s next: “There’s a lot of changes, some big changes that switch the whole dynamic of things, and I think it’s something that’s really unforseen. It may involve a new character or it may involve present characters, I can’t really say, but it is something that’s pretty surprising. Even I was shocked by it. It’s something so shocking that it shocked the cast who pretty much knows everything that’s going on!”
Yep, that’s right. Something shocking happens on “The Originals.” Or, as we like to call it, “Tuesday.”
“The Originals” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
