the simpsons marcia wallace mrs krabappel 'The Simpsons': Marcia Wallace's Mrs. Krabappel not being retired just yet

After the passing of actress Marcia Wallace, “The Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean said that her iconic character on the show, Mrs. Krabappel, would be retired. What wasn’t shared at the time was when to expect Bart Simpson’s teacher to take her final bow.
It turns out the departure is still a ways off. Jean tells TMZ that Wallace has already recorded a year’s worth of episodes for her character, because production of the show is done so far in advance.
Instead the series will continue to feature Mrs. Krabappel for the foreseeable future. Thus far the character has appeared in 178 episodes, beginning with 1990’s “Bart the Genius,” which is the second episode of Season 1.
It’s also worth saying once again that Mrs. Krabappel is not, and has never been, the character that the show is planning to kill off.
