the simpsons fxx syndication 'The Simpsons' reruns going to FXX and online in first cable syndication deal
This is big news for “The Simpsons.” The show is heading to syndication on cable for the first time ever, with FXX becoming the exclusive cable home for reruns. What’s more, the deal also included online streaming on FXNOW, the network’s video on demand platform that is set to be launched soon.
According to a press release from FXX, the deal is believed to be the biggest ever for off-network syndication. It will include all 24 first-run seasons of the series, along with those that follow when not in their first run.
The deal doesn’t begin until August 2014, but shortly after, in September, Season 25 of the show will be added to the lineup.
