zap justin timberlake socia 'The Social Network': Early reviews are something to Facebook aboutEarly reviews are in for “The Social Network“, opening Oct. 1st, and judging from the praise critics lavished on the film, we’ll be seeing Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake & Co. come Oscar season.

Variety’s Justin Chang writes, “Critical enthusiasm and sustained media attention should upgrade “Network” to major-player status among the year’s fall releases.”

]]>So what does the Facebook movie (Don’t lie, you’ve been calling it that, too,) get right? Virtually everything, especially its protrayal of Facebook mastermind/svengali, Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg), whom The Hollywood Reporter’s Kirk Honeycutt calls a “mesmerizing, bewildering and infuriating protagonist” who makes the film “a must-see.”

Critics are praising the hot, up-and-coming cast, especially Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, a.k.a. the new Spiderman. There’s also another star of the film getting some praise. You might have heard of him, Justin Timberlake, whom Chang calls “positively infectious.” The girl with the dragon tattoo Rooney Mara is described as “holding her own” by Chang.

The film has been receving a few complaints, which include none of the characters being all that likable, and while Honeycutt describes the film as “a feast of great talk,” he adds “it doesn’t always know when to quit.”

It seems “The Social Network” will indeed be something to click the “Like” button over, at least until the inevitable Twitter movie comes out.
