theview adamlambertvideo 290 'The View' psychic moment on 'American Idol' Adam Lambert's same sex kissWhen it comes to “American Idol” Adam Lambert‘s same-sex kiss at the American Music Awards, the hosts of “The View” are frighteningly prescient.

The women of “The View” wondered why the more scandalous parts of Lambert’s act were censored while video of a kiss between Madonna and Britney Spears at the 2003 Video Music Awards has been widely circulated on network television.

No, they weren’t talking about CBS’ blurring of the kiss on “The Early Show” during a segment on Lambert. In that case, CBS defended showing an unblurred clip of Madonna kissing Britney Spears by saying that video had been “widely disseminated.”

(As opposed to, we suppose, the millions of people talking about Lambert’s performance.)

No, they meant the ABC West Coast feed of the American Music Awards, during which parts of Lambert’s performance were censored. Viewers elsewhere in the country saw a live feed of the ceremony, and an uncut version of the performance.

The supposedly shocking show generated a meager 1,500 complaints, according to ABC. Still, a scheduled Lambert appearance was bounced from that network’s “Good Morning America.”
