8 p.m. ET/PT:

“The Voice” (Season 5 premiere, NBC): The blind auditions kick off Season 5 with original coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green returning to their big red chairs alongside mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Check out Zap2It’s preview of the premiere here.

“How I Met Your Mother” (Season 9 premiere, CBS): On their way to Long Island for their wedding weekend, Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) come across a startling family discovery. Meanwhile, Marshall (Jason Segel) sees something online that changes the course of his journey east, while Lily (Alyson Hannigan) confronts Ted (Josh Radnor) about letting go of Robin during the special one-hour premiere. Oh yeah, and Cristin Milioti starts her series regular stint as The Mother.

9 p.m. ET/PT:

“2 Broke Girls” (Season 3 premiere, CBS): Business booms for Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline’s (Beth Behrs) new cupcake walk-up window when word spreads about a shocking incident involving a rock star.

9:30 p.m. ET/PT:

“Mom” (Series premiere, CBS): Christy (Anna Faris), a newly sober single mother, is trying to get her life together in this new comedy from multi-cam maestro Chuck Lorre. She is challenged when her estranged mother, Bonnie (Allison Janney), comes back into the picture.

10 p.m. ET/PT:

“Castle” (Season 6 premiere, ABC): Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) deal with the consequences of their decisions against the backdrop of a high-stakes investigation. Lisa Edelstein begins a three-episode arc as a Federal investigator who will play a vital role in Beckett’s decision about her future.

“Hostages” (Series premiere, CBS): After Dr. Ellen Sanders (Toni Collette), a prominent Washington D.C. surgeon, is handpicked to operate on the President of the United States, rogue FBI agent Duncan Carlisle (Dylan McDermott) and armed intruders suddenly take her and her family hostage, demanding she kill the President during surgery or they will murder her family.

“The Blacklist” (Series premiere, NBC): Ex-government agent and one of the FBI’s Most Wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) mysteriously turns himself in to the FBI and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with including a long-thought-dead terrorist but under one condition — he’ll only talk to newly-minted female FBI profiler, Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) with whom he seemingly has no connection. On her first day on the job, Liz finds herself in a race to stop a terrorist.
