the walking dead carl rick season 4 finale 'The Walking Dead' Season 4 finale 'A' synopsis revealed: Rick's in trouble

“The Walking Dead” hasn’t even returned from its midseason hiatus yet and already viewers can know what’s in store for the Season 4 finale. The synopsis of episode 16, “A,” made its way online and, though vague, it doesn’t bode well for Rick.

The plot description reads: “Many paths collide; Rick faces sheer brutality; the group struggles to survive.” Not too much there beyond the hope that everyone will finally reunite after being separated in the Season 4 midseason finale and that Rick will face off against some sort of foe.

Could it be Negan? Likely not, as Robert Kirkman previously said, “I wouldn’t expect him to be showing up — definitely not in Season 4. I don’t know. I wouldn’t expect it too soon. But we are all very excited about the prospect of bringing that guy into the show. The plan is that we will see him eventually.” Chances are, though, that some of Negan’s Saviors will pop up before this season comes to an end.

It could be that “A” stands for “Alexandria Safe-Zone,” though, which in the comics is an area where Rick, et. al., end up. It would make sense for the journey of Season 4 to end on that hopeful note of the Prison group coming back together at a new safe-ish area, though that’s not confirmed.

“A” could also be Abraham, which doesn’t really make that much sense considering that everyone knows he’s been cast and it would be a shame to save him, Eugene and Rosita for one episode in Season 4. And of course, “A” could be something viewers have no clue of yet.

“The Walking Dead” returns from its midseason hiatus on Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC. What do you think “A” stands for?
