Telltale Games’ “The Walking Dead” game made a huge splash when it was released in 2012, and now fans likely won’t have to wait much longer for its second installment. According to Telltale’s Twitter account, a big announcement about the title is coming on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. ET.
“‘Keep that hair short …'” the Telltale Twitter account posts.
“The Walking Dead: Season 1” was released in five “episodes” from April 2012 to November 2012 that were playable on Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (and later iOS). A complete retail version was released on Dec. 11, 2012 in the United States. “Season 1” was named Game of the Year at the Spike Video Awards and earned countless other best of the year honors for its take on “The Walking Dead.”
Though characters from the comics and TV series appeared in the video game, “The Walking Dead: Season 1” told a story that was separate from both. The plot progressed as players made decisions through dialogue and quick time events, which caused personalized experiences for everyone who played it. It’s unclear what exactly the plot of the new game will be, but “Season 1” character Clementine is expected to be a part of “Season 2.”
The announcement coming Tuesday will likely be “The Walking Dead: Season 2’s” release date, as Telltale previously said it would come out in Fall 2013. Are you looking forward to the upcoming game?
