“The Walking Dead” has a premiere date, and it fits a show about zombies pretty well: Halloween.
AMC will unveil its latest series with a 90-minute premiere on Sunday, Oct. 31. The show, based on Robert Kirkman‘s graphic novel and executive produced by Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption”), stars Andrew Lincoln (“Love Actually”) as Rick Grimes, a police officer who’s shot in the line of duty and wakes up in the hospital to find the world has fallen victim to a zombie plague. He goes in search of his wife and child.
Along with announcing the premiere date, AMC has released the 4 1/2-minute trailer for “The Walking Dead” that wowed fans at Comic-Con, so you no longer have to watch a shaky cell-phone recording of it on YouTube. It’s below, and we can tell you that it induced spasms of geeky joy when it was viewed in the Zap2it offices this morning.
The only downside we can see so far is that the season will run for only six episodes. Here’s the trailer — what do you think?
