ti getty T.I. back in prison; Feds upset the rapper took mega bus to halfway house

We may have the newest Darwin Award winner.

In what’s easily the worst reason to get sent back to prison, rapper T.I. will be back in lock-up after officials didn’t like that he took his gaudy tour bus to an Atlanta halfway house. The Grammy winner was to finish his 11-month sentence there following Wednesday’s (Aug. 31) release from an Arkansas prison. He had been serving time after a probation violation stemming from his 2007 arrest on weapons charges including possession of three unregistered machine guns.

T.I.’s lawyer, Steven Sadow, tells E!, “We are awaiting the opportunity to quickly resolve whatever the issue may be that the Federal Bureau of Prisons has with T.I.’s method of transportation, bus, from Arkansas to Atlanta, so that T.I. can return to the halfway house to complete the remaining days of his sentence.”

As a result of his latest actions, T.I. will be in an Atlanta federal penitentiary until Sept. 29, his originally scheduled release date.

Calls to VH1 regarding any impact this may have on his recently-announced reality series have not been returned.
