Country superstar (and actor!) Tim McGraw was the featured celebrity on Friday’s (Feb. 11) episode of “Who Do You Think You Are?” on NBC. Over the course of the episode, McGraw researches his father’s ancestry and discovers that he is descended from some of the first settlers of the United States and also has a connection to George Washington.

“Who Do You Think You Are” is in its second season, brought back after a well-received first season in 2010. The 2011 lineup includes Gwyneth Paltrow, McGraw, Rosie O’Donnell, Steve Buscemi, Kim Cattrall, Lionel Richie, Vanessa Williams and Ashley Judd.

Did you watch the episode? What did you think? We think the show’s basis is fascinating and would love to be able to do that kind of research for ourselves. It also just tickles us that the executive producer is Phoebe from “Friends” (Lisa Kudrow).
