The Denver Broncos, after going 7-1 initially after Tim Tebow took over as quarterback, finished the regular season on a bit of a skid, losing their last three games. But they pulled off another miracle win in the overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs.

After having a 20-6 hafltime lead, the Broncos let the Steelers charge back into the game and send it to overtime tied 23-23. Then on the first play from scrimmage, Tebow threw a short pass to Demaryius Thomas – who threw off his defenders and ran for what turned into an 80-yard touchdown pass for the victory.

Fans were cheering. Viewers were stunned. Our Twitter feed blew up with what essentially amounted to, “Wait … what?!”

Tebow took to Twitter after all the post-game press was over, tweeting:

  • “Praise the Lord! Thanks to all my great teammates, coaches and fans…This win was for Bronco Nation!”
  • “We couldn’t have done it without all of us working together as one… And yeah, @DemaryiusT is a beast! GB”

And Demaryius adds, “Great win tonight broncos.. Thanks 2 all the fans that came out and supported..”

Now the Broncos go on to face the New England Patriots, Saturday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The Broncos lost 41-23 to the Patriots at home during their only regular season match-up.
