tim tebow jacksonville rally russia gi Tim Tebow rally in Jacksonville flops, but Russia wants himThe big “Hire Tim Tebow” rally planned in Jacksonville, FL on Monday (Sept 16) may not have done much to help the out-of-work quarterback find a new gig, but it’s not as if it’s his last hope — well, depending on how he feels about Russia.

Monday’s rally outside of EverBank Field was sparsely attended, at best. Fans of the former New England Patriot who did show held signs encouraging the Jaguars to sign Tebow, though it doesn’t seem likely they’ll ever get their wish. In January, the team’s general manager, David Caldwell, said, “I can’t imagine a scenario in which he’ll be a Jacksonville Jaguar — even if he’s released.”

So, perhaps it’s time for Tebow to look abroad? According to the LA Times, the quarterback has been offered a million dollars to play for the Moscow Black Storm in an American Football Championship of Russia semifinal game against the Moscow Patriots on Sept. 28, followed by the championship game, should the Storm advance.

Team owner Mikhail Zaltsman claims Tebow has expressed an actual interest, saying, “I talked with him personally and he wanted to go.” He adds, however, that Tebow’s agents are “thinking of using him as a motivational speaker. They don’t want him to play football.”

Do you think Tebow ought to take the Moscow Black Storm up on their offer?
