tim tebow new england patriots Tim Tebow signs with New England Patriots: Coach Bill Belichick doesn't hate the QB

Move over, Tom Brady. It looks like the New England Patriots are adding more star power to their roster, as Tim Tebow is reportedly signing to the team. According to ESPN, the beleaguered quarterback will report to the Patriots’ minicamp Tuesday (June 11).
In a recent report that cited unnamed sources, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was depicted as having disdain for Tebow. But Belichick himself came out and denied the rumor.
“Every single player has strengths and weaknesses. But regardless of that, for anyone to have represented that is the way I feel about Tim Tebow is completely untrue, baseless and irresponsible,” Belichick tells ESPN Boston. “It is unfortunate that something so inaccurate was reported.”
Tebow’s last NFL start was a post-season game for the Denver Broncos against the Patriots, when “Tebow Time” ran out and he lost a playoff game to Brady’s team. The move to New England will reunite Tebow with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, the former Broncos head coach.

Tebow was released from the New York Jets following the 2012 season. Head coach Rex Ryan was criticized for keeping Tebow on the bench while Mark Sanchez failed on the field. When Sanchez was eventually benched, Ryan skipped over Tebow for third string quarterback Greg McElroy. The Jets drafted rookie QB Geno Smith for the 2013 season.
It remains to be seen whether Belichick will prove his love for Tebow by getting a Rex Ryan-style tattoo. With Brady at the helm, what kind of play action Tebow will actually see on the Patriots is also to be determined.
